Been meaning to anchor this thought in for a while. A spoiler from 12 years deep into my parenting journey: Contrary to what I used to think on some level - kids growing older doesn't mean they need us less. I find the older they get, the more I want to be in "ready position" for moments big and small - homework frustration, basketball practices, friendship challenges. A sometimes fascinating, sometimes frustrating front row seat to human behavior and personal development. Does this mean I want to be with them all the time? Hale no. That wouldn't be good for any of us. BUT it does mean that being there for certain moments is a top prio for me in the near and distant future. And I am designing my biz and life accordingly.
