King Scott’s New Baby, Mohs Surgery, & The Pickleball of Punishments
King Scott has officially welcomed a new Princess into the world, which means congratulations are in order—and, more importantly, it’s time for a group of grown adults to argue over who won the baby pool. The show kicks off with the crew breaking down the new baby’s arrival, the guesses for date, time and weight, and some accounting so questionable that everyone should probably just agree Scott won because he got an actual human being out of the deal. Welcome back to another perfectly functional daily comedy show. Rizz is also back after an unexpectedly rough few days following Mohs surgery to remove basal cell carcinoma from underneath his eye. What he thought would be a relatively simple procedure turned into multiple rounds of cutting, repeated needles to the face, ten stitches and enough swelling to make an eye patch feel like a legitimate fashion choice. Naturally, the crew responds to this medical ordeal with the sensitivity and compassion you’d expect from them—which is almost none. And because apparently facial surgery wasn’t stressful enough, Rizz also tells the story of getting a phone call from his 17-year-old son informing him that the family car had vanished from Francis Park during the Gateway Cup. Was it stolen? Impounded? Gone forever on a holiday weekend? Nope. In one of the strangest happy endings possible, authorities had apparently moved and re-parked the cars along the race route. Thankfully, a tracker led them back to the vehicle, proving once again that technology exists primarily to prevent dads from completely losing their minds. Then we head deeper into St. Louis chaos. The crew talks about local restaurant closings, the Heavy Anchor getting hit by a car, community support for the venue, Venmo weirdos asking people for money and the Bevo-area street takeover involving a stolen vehicle that ended up on fire. Just your standard relaxing holiday weekend in STL. Things get surprisingly wholesome when Lern reveals her birthday surprise for Mono Tim: an actual bridge dedicated in his honor. Yes, Mono Tim has a bridge now. No, the rest of us have accomplished nothing. The touching story immediately becomes less touching when Rafe starts considering whether the property could eventually host a Viking funeral for his beloved Jeep. This is why we can’t have one nice segment. Rafe also takes us inside his attempt to buy a Frame-style TV from a brick-and-mortar store, where finding an employee interested in selling him a television becomes an endurance event. He arrives ready to spend money and somehow leaves with existential questions about television speakers, mounting hardware and whether customer service is now an escape room. Finally, football season means the Pick ’Em Challenge is back—and the punishments are getting an upgrade. Forget repeating the same punishment all season. This year, the wheel could deliver barefoot days around the station, cat food or anchovies under your car seat, oven mitts for an entire show and plenty of other ideas designed to make losing football picks everybody else’s entertainment. A new baby. A stitched-up face. A mysteriously relocated car. Mono Tim’s bridge. A possible Viking funeral. Retail despair. And punishments created by people who clearly cannot be trusted with authority. It’s another daily comedy show from The Rizzuto Show, where a normal Tuesday somehow requires more plot development than most television seasons.
