Homecoming weekend is here, which means family memories, cute pictures and Rizz saying exactly the wrong thing to his wife. This funny podcast begins with Rizz’s daughter trying on homecoming dresses and Dad successfully navigating the fashion show — right up until his wife suggests she could wear one of the dresses to a wedding and Rizz responds, “There’s no way you’re fitting in that.” Congratulations, sir. You found the wrong answer with breathtaking efficiency. Meanwhile, Lern conducts a marriage experiment by replacing her usual bedtime uniform of oversized vintage T-shirts and basketball shorts with actual cute pajamas. Tim notices immediately. This somehow launches the crew into an extremely important investigation involving sexy pajamas, going commando, boxer briefs, underwear shelf life and Rizz admitting he may have underwear old enough to have its own driver’s license. Somewhere along the way, “gangrenous ween” enters the conversation, because apparently we abandoned professionalism before sunrise. Then it’s time for some hometown pride! Unfortunately, St. Louis Lambert International Airport ranks 22nd out of 24 large airports in the satisfaction study discussed on the show. Nothing says STL like looking at 22nd place and saying, “Hey, at least we beat two.” The crew also talks summer vacations, tourist destinations with reputations for rudeness and why Rizz has officially become Midwestern enough to forget how to merge into New York City pedestrian traffic. The show also digs into why the internet feels considerably more miserable these days, from rage bait and negative comments to algorithms that figured out making everybody angry is fantastic for engagement. The proposed solution? Put the phone down, go outside and interact with actual humans. Terrifying concept, we know. Thankfully, this funny podcast eventually discovers something the internet hasn’t ruined yet: miniature horses. A study discussed on the show found that spending just a few minutes petting or scratching miniature horses or donkeys can help improve mood and reduce feelings like anxiety, sadness and loneliness.
