Apparently, all it takes to make a normal morning completely fall apart is one Florida man, one unfortunate horse, several questionable bedtime habits, an expensive hobby or twelve, and a group of radio professionals who should probably know when to stop asking follow-up questions. Welcome back to The Rizzuto Show, the funny podcast where the news is already ridiculous before we get our grubby little hands on it. Things get moving with a Florida story involving a man, a horse named Raven, and behavior that forces Rafe to remind humanity of a very important rule: we do not have to have sex with everything. That seems like something adults shouldn't need explained, yet here we are. The whole disaster also inspires “Just Joe,” the imaginary product nobody asked for but everybody immediately understands. Congratulations to marketing. Please never make this real. From there, we discover another great way to destroy your dignity: hobbies. What starts as “I think I’ll try fishing” becomes a garage full of equipment and a bank account begging for mercy. Guitar, golf, aquariums, classic cars, cycling, coffee, gaming, woodworking, bowling and disc golf all get thrown into the financial wood chipper as the gang debates which innocent-looking pastime turns into an expensive lifestyle the fastest. Somewhere, a guy with 11 bowling balls just felt personally attacked. Then we crawl into everybody’s bedrooms—which sounds significantly worse than it is—for a breakdown of bedtime routines. Shower before bed? Brush your teeth? Journal? Read? Scroll your phone until your brain becomes soup? Sleep with the door open? Let the pets take over the mattress you technically paid for? We learn that Rizz can apparently postpone an argument until tomorrow and immediately go to sleep, which may qualify as either a superpower or psychopath behavior. Moon has to rethink his sacred nap schedule when the kids are home. Lern wisely refuses to bring her journal anywhere near these people. King Scott reads Nancy Drew aloud to his wife. Somehow, every new detail raises additional questions. And because this funny podcast refuses to remain in one lane for more than seven consecutive seconds, summer officially gets declared dead, Moon celebrates the closing of the swimming pool he barely uses yet still manages to resent, and the crew gets into the viral US Open mess involving a CEO snatching a tennis player's hat that was intended for a kid. Nothing says “successful businessman” quite like becoming internationally famous for fighting a child over free merchandise. It’s daily comedy, weird news, ridiculous personal stories, St. Louis radio chaos and pop culture commentary held together by sarcasm and whatever caffeine was available before sunrise. Basically, another completely normal edition of The Rizzuto Show.
