As the Hepatitis C Trust approaches its 20 year anniversary, we want to celebrate the history of the organisation and all it has achieved since its inception. Charles founded The Hepatitis C Trust after his diagnosis and a conversation with friends in 1999. He then embarked on a journey leading the charity to achieve the imminent elimination of hepatitis C, before handing over the baton to current CEO Rachel Halford and moving on to Medicines Patent Pool as Executive Director. In the episode Charles speaks about what it takes to open a charity, the developments and moments in The Hepatitis C Trust’s history that made the elimination goal possible, challenges the charity has faced, and insight into the climate of health charities and his views on what makes a charity a success.
