3. European Leftist Populism And AI - JOSEPH STERNBERG 092926
1850 WILHELMPLATZ BERLIN European Leftist Populism And AI GUEST: Joseph Sternberg Joseph Sternberg highlights the rise of far left populism in Europe, exemplified by Die Linke winning local elections in Berlin. The party, rooted in East German communism, combines classic Marxist economic proposals like housing nationalization with troubling anti-Semitic sentiments emerging from an alliance of radical critical theorists and Islamist voters. Sternberg argues this coalition makes hostility an existential issue for the left compared to right wing parties. He also addresses the economic uncertainties of artificial intelligence, warning that massive infrastructure spending on data centers may fail to yield expected financial returns, creating major risks alongside ongoing American and Chinese competition.
