(KJV) Application: The psalm is a national inventory, written by people looking back at what their own country did and naming it without softening the language. Two things sit in it that the modern conversation keeps separate. The children were sacrificed to something, and the land itself absorbed the consequence. That is the frame Malaine is working from when she connects a region's rates to a principality holding ground there.
