DX Today AI Daily Brief - Wednesday, September 23, 2026 OpenAI released GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna and cut API prices in half, and Anthropic answered a day later with Claude Opus 5.5, a model it says matches Claude Fable 5.1 while costing about 40 percent less to run. Alibaba used its Apsara Conference in Hangzhou to unveil the Zhenwu V900 accelerator, which it calls China's most powerful AI chip, alongside a target of more than 20 gigawatts of data center capacity by 2032. Wall Street repriced Meta as Jefferies lifted its target to 875 dollars on the strength of the Muse agent, and SoftBank drew more than 20 billion dollars of early demand for one of the largest corporate junk bond sales on record, raised to fund its OpenAI investment. On the funding side, Snorkel AI took 350 million dollars at a 3.5 billion dollar valuation, clinical AI company Heidi raised 340 million dollars at 900 million, and Brahma AI raised 150 million dollars at 2 billion led by Multiples. Cognex agreed to buy Intel spinout RealSense for about 500 million dollars, a leaked document detailed 546 job cuts inside Oracle's America Cloud Infrastructure organization, twelve companies including Okta, AWS and Google Cloud formed the Blueprint Alliance to secure enterprise AI agents, and Britain's Competition and Markets Authority proposed forcing Google to offer real search choice, with AI assistants counted among the alternatives.
