Finding Hope in the Midst of Addiction: The Faith to Flourish Story with Dawn Ward

Addiction creates an atmosphere of chaos and fear, not just for those struggling with it, but also for their loved ones. How can we find hope in the midst of watching addiction affect our loved ones? I am so grateful to have Dawn R. Ward as our guest on this episode of the Warfare Parenting Podcast. Dawn tells her story of being stuck in state of worry, shame, and fear because of her loved ones' addictions and self-destructive behaviors. She explains how the Lord worked through her to embrace her life even in the midst of watching her family struggle with addiction.  With that trust in God's power and love, she not only saw her family recover from the grips of addiction, but now works as a biblical mentor and faith coach for other moms through The Faith to Flourish ministry. Dawn shares that moms don't have to merely survive in the midst of trials in their lives, but they can find peace, hope and joy as they learn to thrive in every season of life. Who is Dawn R. Ward? Dawn R. Ward is a speaker, writer, and life transformation coach. She is the founder of The Faith to Flourish, a ministry that equips women to grow in their faith, overcome adversity, and thrive in all seasons of life. She also ministers to women with loved ones struggling with addiction, mental health issues, and life-destructive behaviors. Dawn is the co-author of the book “Still Standing After All the Tears Workbook: Faith in the Battle Edition." She has been married to her husband, Steve, for over forty years and is a mom to three adult children. Things We Talk About in this Episode: What are the first steps we can take as a spouse or parent in helping our loved ones when they face addiction? Why are healing and deliverance not a "one and done" type of deal? How can we encourage our children to keep getting back up if they stumble with addiction? How can we temper our worry when our child struggles with addiction? What can we do to turn those worries over to God?
