Do you rest in the Lord’s sustaining grace? Do you see and believe that the Lord Jesus has arisen? 2 Samuel 16:7–8 (ESV) And Shimei said as he cursed, “Get out, get out, you man of blood, you worthless man! The Lord has avenged on you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned, and the Lord has given the kingdom into the hand of your son Absalom. See, your evil is on you, for you are a man of blood.” 2 Samuel 16:12 (ESV) It may be that the Lord will look on the wrong done to me, and that the Lord will repay me with good for his cursing today. 2 Samuel 18:33 (ESV) And the king was deeply moved and went up to the chamber over the gate and wept. And as he went, he said, “O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! Would I had died instead of you, O Absalom, my son, my son!” Matthew 27:43 (ESV) He trusts in God; let God deliver him now, if he desires him. For he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’ Psalm 127:1–2 (ESV) Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.
