All the Buried Women

Hosted by Beth Allison Barr and Savannah Locke, All the Buried Women uncovers stories of women that are hidden in the Southern Baptist Convention’s archives. Why is the largest Protestant denomination in America (the SBC) becoming more restrictive toward women? When did this trend begin—or has it always been that way? Is this connected to the apparent trend of young women leaving church at high rates? What about Southern Baptist women who feel called to preach, teach, and pastor? What about abuse victims in the SBC? In this podcast, Beth and Savannah shed light on these questions by uncovering stories of women buried by their own denomination and tracing the history of the increasingly monolithic Southern Baptist Convention.
Telling all of our stories

A friend who is not SB sent me your podcast. I had no idea what it was about as I listened I was reminded of experiences I packed away over 25 years ago when I left church as an ordained SBC minister. The episodes were excellent but, they were triggering, they told stories that were so similar to my own experiences that I would have to stop listening.Thank you for doing this good work and telling these stories
Highly recommend

This is an impeccably researched and well produced podcast. Thank you for shining a light on the cancer in the SBC. Prayerfully hopeful that this helps women called by God to start disentangling from institutions that seek to control, quiet, and diminish them. Thank you for your good work.
Essential listening for SBC/Former SBC women

I left the SBC years ago but I grew up in it, was educated in it, and worked for it earlier in my life. Deconstructing my beliefs has taken me in other directions but understanding why I was told the things I learned about myself, especially as a woman, has been so important to see myself differently. I highly recommend listening to this podcast!!
