Viola “Mother” Fletcher was one of the last survivors of the Tulsa Massacre and (with Damario’s help) a powerful advocate for reparations. Damario walks us through the ongoing fight for reparations PLUS a call to action for your holiday season: capture your families oral histories. Attorney Damario Solomon-Simmons is a civil and human rights attorney, movement strategist, and author. He is the Founder and President of Justice for Greenwood and serves as legal counsel for the last known living survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. His work prompted the first-ever U.S. Department of Justice review of the massacre, helped secure the City of Tulsa’s $105 million Greenwood Trust, and played a key role in restoring citizenship rights to Black Creek Indians.
