Indiana's Congressional Map Passes Committee, Republicans Divided On Redistricting, Early Child Care Funding Cuts, Indiana Recidivism Factors, Indy’s Snowfall Response

A bill that would redraw Indiana's congressional map to benefit Republicans was passed through committee Tuesday after hours of testimony. A push to redraw Indiana's congressional districts has divided Republicans in the solidly conservative state. Last year, Indiana froze enrollment for a program that helps low income families pay for child care and preschool, and the state has kept making cuts. More than 36 percent of people released from prison return within three years, according to the Indiana Department of Correction. Officials in Clark County, Indiana report drug overdose deaths so far this year are half what they were last fall.
