Legacy

From Wondery and Goalhanger Podcasts, Afua Hirsch and Peter Frankopan tell the wild stories of some of the most extraordinary men and women ever to have lived – and ask whether they have the rep they deserve. Should Nina Simone’s role in the civil rights movement be more celebrated than it is? When you find out what Picasso got up to in his studio, can you still admire his art? Was Napoleon a hero or a tyrant - or both? (And, while we’re at it, was he even short?) Legacy is the show that looks at big lives from the perspective of now – and doesn’t always like what it sees. Hits so many notes

The history, storytelling, hosts chemistry, uncovering little known facts, twists, passion, linkage to modern times and more. Just love it! Keep going.
Opinion gets in the way

Many have already said it, but I’ll add mine as well. This is actually a pretty decent podcast, but we get a little too much personal opinion in the mix from the female host. If she would just leave it out, I’d give this podcast 5 stars
Infused with personal politics
Mar 19
I actually do love this podcast for the most part. But as the episodes went on, I found Afua’s personal political agenda to be very intrusive and inappropriate for a “history” podcast. She shows such love and tenderness for those POC who beat their children or carried out a genocide. But the white figures can do absolutely no right and only worthy of harsh criticism. She absolutely lost me when she insisted that Cleopatra was black (it’s confirmed she was Greek). It’s a shame and I wish she’d let her co-host get a word in edgewise since he’s much more neutral and palatable.
