Optional: sugar, cream, cinnamon, or a splash of brandy for flavor. Instructions: Rub the oats with a little cold water to make a paste.Bring the remaining water or milk to a boil in a small pot.Stir in the oat paste and a pinch of salt.Simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes, or until it reaches the desired consistency.Season to taste with any optional ingredients.
