Las Mariposas: The Mirabal Sisters
Warning: this episode contains violent content. After growing up during the bloodiest period in the history of the Americas under the rule of a dictator, three girls decided to become the face of a resistance movement. The Mirabal Sisters Patria, Minerva, and Maria Teresa started out with small but significant acts of defiance, which grew into a movement with hundreds of members. Today, they are remembered today as symbols of Dominican pride, feminine strength and resolve, and the cruelty of violence against women.
