I found this after becoming a Brett Goldstein fan from Ted Lasso and Shrinking. Listened to the Daisy Ridley episode and came to leave a note about a film I love. I can never pick a full favorite, but as a LotR book fan, that trilogy is still some of the best cinema ever made. I don't think any other adaptation has captured source material quite that well. Indiana Jones and Return of the Jedi, and Back to the Future are still my most watched going back to childhood though. I also have to say, Ted Lasso is one of the best TV shows around. We rewatch it constantly, perfect comfort show. Brett and everybody did a wonderful job creating a feel good show with interesting character arcs, while still being wholesome and not needlessly dramatic for no reason. I still find new gems hidden in the show. I think it's a masterpiece of television. Rainbow is one of my favorite episodes of any show I've ever seen. Brett did a phenomenal job of making the viewer feel the emotions of that journey, culminating with those seconds of near silence before the roar of the crowd as Roy steps out of the tunnel, finally at home again with the rush from being on the pitch. Just excellent television at its finest.

There continues to be debate on the Ted Lasso Facebook fan page about Beard’s first name. Many believe it is “Willis”, because Ted says to him, “I love you Willis.” I believe it is still a mystery, and that he calls Beard Willis as a nickname, because in an earlier episode, Ted says to Beard, “What you talkin’ about Willis?” I took that as an homage to the Gary Coleman line in “Diff’rent Strokes” to his brother, in the 1970s. Please please, solve this mystery!! Loved seeing you in Milwaukee. Cheers!

Been listening forever and the best part is when I have to pause to search for a mentioned film to add to my list (justwatch is great for this). My favorite movie is Antonia’s Line.

Brett Goldstein is a fantastic host and this podcast is really not about film, but has such a rich and deep pattern of asking excellent questions about spirituality and the hard questions of dealing with our mortality.
