The Curse of Julia Brown with Brandon from Southern Gothic

In this special October crossover episode, our good friend Brandon from Southern Gothic joins us from the Manchac Swamp to separate swamp legends from real history. In September 1915, a violent hurricane hit Southeast Louisiana, killing nearly 375 people, destroying entire towns, and wiping the small farming community of Frenier off the map. In the disaster's wake, a story spread among locals that the curse of Julia Brown, a local Voodoo priestess, brought on the terrible storm. Brandon tells us about Julia Brown's real life, the tragic story of the 1915 hurricane, and how a devastating disaster became one of the South's most famous ghost stories.
