#222 P1 – Mansfield And The Monarchy: Queens, Always Recording & England Versus Christianity With Tony Farina

Author, educator, podcaster and all-round great guy Tony Farina is back to GCC for an extra special 2 hour long conversation spanning all sorts of topics! This week is part 1 of their conversation (part 2 will be out next week but is available now for all Patreons) and in this part there are several tangents but the duo begin by discussing the idea of recording every waking moment and mobile/cell phone access, before the monarchy comes up including Elizabeth I, II and Mary Queen Of Scots which flows into England’s impact on world religion, the whole bizarre concept of having a Royal Family and this part ends with a “what-if” scenario! Next week, in part 2, Mike & Tony first discuss close political voting and political apathy, but they then talk about the importance of language & compassion and delve back into religion from a moral perspective, before delving into Tony’s first published novel; Welcome To Mansfield. They talk about the journey Tony has been on since the book’s release, the upcoming audiobook release and how music had an impact on his writing of the Austen Chronicles and it’s importance to the characters within the novels. Their conversation concludes with what 2024 holds for Tony in the book & podcasting world! Tony mentioned many things in this conversation including; The library website https://search.worldcat.org, the TV series Victoria, the podcasts Cover To Cover by Chris Franjola and Mandatory Music & CD by Max Byrne on Comics In Motion, plus the musical artists Eric Hutchinson and Matt Nathanson.
