Hi! I just wanted to say I started listening to you all after my friend, who is from Alton - recommended your first episode to me and now I am hooked! I look forward to hearing each new episode. The most recent season I love, because while not a horror movie fan - I love hearing about the basis of most “modern” horror movies and being able to discuss them with my husband, and “educate” him on the facts lol. I’m looking forward to getting some more of Troy’s books soon , and Cody , this podcast? Fantastic idea! I hope you both have a great day and keep up the amazing work!
Love American Hauntings!

I very recently found American Hauntings and have been binging it for the past couple of weeks! I absolutely love it! I live in far Southern Illinois so it really interests me to hear about my area . I also love the format of the show. Thank you guys for bringing our spooky area to the podcast genre so well! Read many of Troy’s books in the past, but my eyesight has gotten so bad I’ve had to give up that hobby unless I can listen to the books. Have the day you deserve guys. New fan!
The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Demons

Definition of DEMON: see Albert Fish, demons don’t have to be supernatural. Great job on both podcasts! Sorry, I don’t use a secret code name. Rick Rea
Disappointed

I’ve held out hope that things will get better but things only get worse with each new episode. Candyman was little more than a history lesson on urban blight (with a healthy dose of bleeding heart rhetoric thrown in) and is supposed to have inspired the movie but what was recounted bore little resemblance to it. Of course Taylor explains it away by saying they are only loosely (emphasis on the word loosely) based on actual events. I gotta say this episode (as well as American Hauntings itself) is a bit of a downer. It was all tragic this and tragic that. And I had a hard time connecting it to the movie which, by the way, I didn’t really care for. I mean there was a supernatural aspect in the movie but nothing supernatural in the events that inspired it. The producers wanted to make a horror movie and chose to use the injustices of minority urban life as the backdrop for it. Which they got criticized for by the way. You might be saying to yourself, why do you keep listening then. Well, I’ll tell you. When this podcast started, it was good. So much better than it is now. The stories were more on point about hauntings but, more importantly, the hosts conducted themselves with civility, professionalism and a bit of joie de vivre. They were polite, did not try to alienate anyone and kept the comments focused on the subject at hand. But alas, over time, this has changed. Comments now are all over the place, they are crude and sometimes belligerent when they speak. Profanity is rampant. Perhaps the time has now come to part company and go our separate ways. I prefer civility and decorum and the “hosts” seem more at home in the locker room.
